Friday saw the official launch of MUD Cape Town. Their new showroom on Vineyard Rd, Claremont (opposite the main Cavendish Parking Entrance) is crisp and modern and the staff are incredibly welcoming.
If you aren’t 100% who MUD is and what they are about, here is a little write-up for you:
When we (myself and Lisa-Jade) arrived carrying freshly brewed coffee, we were welcomed in and offered some amazing champagne. As you can imagine, the coffee was promptly put down and almost forgotten. We browsed around the showroom for a few minutes while we waited for the rest of the media group to arrive and I almost instantly fell in love with some of their products.
Once everyone arrived we were asked to be seated while Brenda ran us through the ins and outs of the products and the company. Where they began and where they want to be going forward. I love that the products are 100% against cruelty to animals and I especially love that MUD not only sell their products to retails and consumers but they also assist and promote training courses. These courses range from beginner make up artist courses all the way to special effects, airbrush makeup and bridal too!
Everything you need is available right on their Vineyard Rd doorstep.
While Brenda was running through the above, Vanessa (one of MUD’s Sales Reps & Make Up Artists) was touching up on Inge’s makeup. Once she was done she ran us through which products she used and how you should use them in order to get the best results. While she was running us through the products she also passed them around for us to get a feel for them.
Of course, while this was happening, I started drooling over the eye-shadow palettes (you will see why in a minute). Running my finger over the product was an experience all in itself. The colour payoff is amazing with minimal drop-off, the texture is silky smooth and their shadows come in either a Matte or Satin finish.
Lindsay, the Western Cape MUD Distributor then answered any questions we had and invited us to have a look around the showroom a bit more, to have a look at the various products and to have anything tested out on us if we wanted.
I of course jumped up and ran to the eye-shadows because I was not leaving without at least all of them 🙂
Eventually I managed to pull myself away and have a look at the rest of the products as well as manage to chat to Brenda, Lindsay, Vanessa and Inge. The ladies are absolutely amazing and between the 4 of them, absolute vaults of information in terms of makeup and beauty.
